Learn More About Habitat Canada Global Village
NO SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION SKILLS ARE REQUIRED...just a positive attitude, a desire to help, and enthusiasm for meeting new people and experiencing new cultures! Habitat homes in tropical countries are often made of concrete brick or block. The Global Village Team will work with the homeowners and trained construction supervisors. The volunteer work often includes digging, mixing concrete, carrying and laying bricks.
Each Habitat Global Village volunteer pays a trip cost that includes: logistics such as accomodations, meals, local transportation, some local cultural activities, travel insurance, a donation toward the Habitat host community's building projects and the Global Village Program. If you are a Canadian participating on a trip offered through Habitat For Humanity Canada many of your trip expenses, including eligible airfare costs, can be claimed for a tax receipt. The trip costs depend on the country visited, the host affiliate and the number of trip days. Please refer to the trip schedule for more information.
