The Global Village Handbook is a valuable resource that describes the mission and purpose of Habitat for Humanity and the Global Village program. It explains what to expect and how to prepare for this rewarding experience, and will answer many of your questions.
Review Making Payments and Donations for instructions on submitting payment for your trip cost. The Donation form will help you track donations. Create a Giving Page to solicit donations online from friends and family.
Review the Fundraising Guide carefully to ensure your donors receive a tax receipt for eligible donations. If you are planning to fundraise outside of your circle of friends and family, please let your local Habitat affiliate know your plans. Click here to find your local Habitat office in Canada
. Check with your team leader about team fundraising plans if you are part of a closed GV team (i.e., school group) before you begin your fundraising.

Obtaining an Airfare Tax Receipt
Your airfare expense is eligible for a tax receipt from Habitat for Humanity Canada within specific guidelines. Review the Airfare Info Sheet to confirm that your airfare will qualify for a tax receipt before you book your flight. You can request your tax receipt after you return from your trip by completing the Gift in Kind Form and submitting supporting documents to the Global Village office.
Travel Medical Insurance
The following document summarizes the travel medical insurance that is provided as part of your Global Village trip cost. NOTE: Habitat for Humanity has changed their insurance provider as of April 1, 2013. Please disregard any past information you have from CHUBB/Frontier Medex. The new provider is ACE/Europ Assist. Follow this link for information.
You have already reviewed and agreed to the Waiver and Privacy Form just prior to completing the Global Village application form. You can access a copy of this document through the link below. If you are under 18 years old (or were under 18 when you completed your Global Village application), your parent or guardian must complete the Minor Waiver and submit it to the Global Village office before your trip departure.
