Prince Edward Island
May 27 - June 3, 2018
Are you interested in experiencing a beautiful part of Canada while helping fellow Canadians obtain safe and affordable housing? Then come and join us on this Global Village experience. No construction experience is needed; just bring with you a willingness to work and a positive attitude.
Why should I go to Prince Edward Island?
Prince Edward Island might be Canada’s smallest province, but it played a major role in the forming of our country. Known as the “Birthplace of Confederation”, Charlottetown, PEI held the Charlottetown Conference in 1864 where the idea of forming one country was born. Besides having a large historical significance, Prince Edward Island is home to 21 provincial parks full of beautiful scenery, creating a nature lover’s dream island.
Habitat for Humanity PEI
Founded in 1996, Habitat For Humanity PEI is a non-profit organization working towards an island where everyone has an opportunity to live in a safe, decent and affordable home. To date, the organization has been able to help 48 families achieve this goal. They also have a ReStore which raises funds by keeping useable materials out of the waste stream and making them available for home building and renovation projects.
