Campbell River, Vancouver Island, BC

August 11 - 18, 2018

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a family that needs a hand up?  Are you willing to work alongside other volunteers and have some fun while you do?  Then we want you on our team! No construction experience is required – just a flexible attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Why should I go to Campbell River?

Named one of the top five quality of life destinations in North America, Campbell River offers a balanced lifestyle surrounded by nature. With the waters of Discovery Passage at the shoreline and majestic mountains as a backdrop, Campbell River, a city with friendly small-town character, is located at the 50th parallel, midway along Vancouver Island’s eastern shore. It is the third largest city on Vancouver Island, with a population of 32,000.

Natural beauty and community amenities offer an unparalleled lifestyle that gives residents, businesses and visitors room to grow and space to breathe. Hiking, golfing, fishing skiing, wildlife watching, Campbell River has it all!

Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North

Habitat for Humanity, Vancouver Island North is now entering the most ambitious period in their 13-year history. The recent purchase of two large parcels of land, will enable them to build eight more homes in Campbell River and 10 in Courtenay.

Meet the Team Leader: Ken Caissie

Hello, I’m Ken Caissie and I’m excited to be on another HFH build in Canada. Travelling with HFH internationally is fun and rewarding, but I believe we need to help at home as well. I have been fortunate to have visited every province and territory in Canada. It is beautiful, big, and diverse. Since 2007, I have been on Canadian HFH builds in Iqaluit, Whitehorse, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, and Halifax. I look forward to adding Vancouver Island to the list! My other builds have been to Louisiana, Hungary, and New Zealand. This will be my 12th HFH trip and my third as Team Leader.

I hope you like what you see and will join us on this Habitat for Humanity Build to Campbell River. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you require information on this trip, the Campbell River build location, itinerary, budget, planned activities, and any other questions you may have. Thanks for stopping by!
