Flathead Valley, Montana
July 8 - 15, 2018
Enjoy your summer by building a home for a family!
Come join us for a life changing experience and help build a safe and decent home for a family in beautiful Flathead Valley. If you love the outdoors this trip to Montana is perfect for you! We will be staying in a very unique setting in the valley - very close to Flathead Lake and the gateway to Glacier National Park. The area is renowned for its natural beauty and offers multiple recreational activities including hiking, water sports, biking, fishing, and camping.
Why should I go to Montana?
Together we will spend a week helping with the construction of an affordable, energy efficient family home for a partner family. Under the guidance of experts, our tasks may include laying the foundation, framing, roofing, installing windows and doors, insulation, painting and finish work. Habitat for Humanity Flathead is building several townhouses in the area in 2018 and we will be contributing to the construction of one of these homes.
Habitat for Humanity Flathead Valley
Habitat for Humanity Flathead Valley is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through construction, rehabilitating and preserving homes: by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help those improve their shelter conditions.
Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley houses are simple, decent and affordable to those that earn between 30-60% of the median income for the valley.

As part of this trip some flexibility has been introduced to the meal schedule which your team leader will gladly discuss in more detail during the interview process.

Meet the Team Leader: Alan Rendall
Hi, I’m Alan and live in Canmore, Alberta, not far from the Flathead Valley. This will be my 15th trip with Global Village. I had such a great time on my first build in El Salvador in 2009 that I decided to become a Team Leader. Having built in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Mexico, Thailand, Nepal, Malaysia, Portugal, Hawaii, PEI and Edmonton, I am excited to be a part of this inaugural project in Montana, which also represents my first time building in the United States.
