July 8 - 19, 2018
Are you looking for a chance to make a difference in the life of a deserving family and at the same time enrich your own? Do you have a desire to help the less fortunate with a willingness to pull up your sleeves and open your heart?
Habitat for Humanity Poland
Habitat Poland is serving families in response to the economic and social policies that were employed during the Communist era. Despite recent reforms, overcrowded and damp housing without proper sanitation is still the reality of far too many of Poland’s low-income working families.
The team will get their hands dirty on the build site with demolition work, installing insulation, plastering or painting. Throughout the week we'll tour local markets, visit museums and learn more about Gliwice through a walking tour.
What will my week look like?

- Monday July 9-Thursday, July 12 – Build days

(Please note that the above itinerary may be subject to changes)
Where will I stay? What will I eat?
Our lodging will be in a simple, decent hotel in Gliwice with two people sharing rooms. Breakfast will be taken at the hotel, lunch at the build site and dinner at local restaurants. Snacks and water will be provided at the worksite.
What will it cost?
|The cost for this 12 day opportunity to build in Poland is approximately
$2,300 + round-trip airfare + R&R*
The trip cost covers: lodging, food and ground transportation for the build portion of the trip, traveler’s medical insurance, orientation materials, and a donation to HFH Poland and the Global Village Canada program. Participants will need to arrange and pay for round-trip air transportation from their point of departure to Gliwice, Poland. Flight arrangements must be made in consultation with the team leader.
*Habitat for Humanity Canada will issue a charitable donation tax receipt for the trip cost and the eligible airfare – these will be 2 separate receipts. The costs for R&R portion of the trip are not eligible for a tax receipt and this money must not be sent to HFH Canada. Your team leader will let you know how to pay this.
There are additional travel costs such as passport, visa and immunizations which the team leader will discuss with you. These costs are not tax deductible.
