Why should I go to Myanmar?
Bordered by Bangladesh, Thailand, China, and the Andaman Sea. The build site in Bago is located in the southern region of Myanmar approximately 80 kilometers North East of the Yangon.
Myanmar is among the poorest countries in Asia with one in four people living below the national poverty line. Most of the poor live in rural areas which also tend to be affected by civil conflict or natural disasters such as forest fires, landslides, floods and storm surges. 33% of the population lives below the poverty line.
Our team will be supporting our host’s goal to complete 50 homes during 2018. During the month of December, temperatures in Bago on average are in the range of 30C. Expect moderate humidity and tropical rainfall. Bago is known for its many Buddhist Temples and Monuments
Tell me about Habitat for Humanity Myanmar
Habitat for Humanity has been providing volunteer support since 2014 and has helped provide better shelter for over 3,500 home owners in addition to improving water and sanitation facilities and providing disaster response during the devastating Cyclone Nargis in 2008.
