Volunteer on a Global Village project whilst giving a 'hand up' to vulnerable populations in Nepal

April 13  - April 24, 2019

Habitat Nepal's projects in Kavre are focused on home construction for earthquake affected families. Our team will work alongside local masons and a  Habitat partner family.

Habitat for Humanity Nepal

Habitat for Humanity began working in Nepal in 1997, by 2005, Habitat Nepal helped 830 families directly build homes. In Kavre, Habitat Nepal is assisting earthquake affected families in constructing new homes through owner driven approach. Since the April 25, 2015 earthquake, thousands of families are still living in temporary shelters. Under earthquake assistance program, Habitat Nepal is supporting households through social mobilization, technical assistance, tiered assistance and ensure availability of quality construction materials. In 2017, Habitat Nepal marked 20 years of home construction and has helped address the shelter needs of more than 70,000 Nepali families. For more information visit Habitat Nepal's website, here.

Team Leader

Hi, my name is Sally Sipos and I am thrilled to be leading this team to Nepal.  This will be my 15th Global Village trip and my eighth as a Team Leader.  I’ve had the pleasure of doing Global Village builds all throughout Latin American, Portugal, Trinidad, Indonesia, Macedonia and excited to be heading to Nepal next spring.

My first Global Village trip was a life-changing experience for me, which is why I continue to share my time and resources year after year to this most worthy cause.  I am looking for a team of energetic, passionate, positive, good-humoured volunteers who share the same desire to help families achieve the safety and dignity gained by owning a decent home.

Please feel free to contact me at sally.sipos@gmail.com if you would like to learn more about this trip or apply now using our on-line application!

Looking forward to sharing a wonderfully rewarding experience with you!
