Habitat Bolivia- La Paz

October 12 - 21st, 2019

About Habitat for Humanity Bolivia:

Habitat for Humanity Bolivia projects are focused on partnership with Bolivian families living in substandard and unhealthy conditions. Approximately 60% of the population of Bolivia does not have stable living conditions and lack access to health, education, housing, employment, and formal financial credit programs. There is also a deficit in the quality of housing and the environment. Many homes have been built without proper materials or construction practices. Most often they do not have any basic services needed to accommodate a family.

At Habitat for Humanity Bolivia, we support the repair, improvement, expansion, and construction of new homes through alliances with both public and private entities to promote community development. We believe that adequate housing can break the cycle of poverty for good.

Meet the Team Leader:

Hello! My name is Tammy Carter. I am a veteran team leader, leading 10 teams over 4 continents since 2012. When I am not travelling the world, I am a respiratory therapist in a large teaching hospital in the Ottawa region. I am a Big Sister and enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. My husband is also a GV team leader and will also be leading a team in La Paz concurrently.

I am looking forward to building in La Paz while also building new relationships and friendships along with the bricks and mortar. I love to experience and interact with different cultures and one of my greatest joys is to see the spark in my team members as they embrace all of the new experiences possible on GV builds.

Your questions and applications are eagerly awaited! Be prepared to work hard, learn new things, eat new things and have a ton of fun. Please feel free to reach out to me at tammylynnrrt@hotmail.com.
